But there are a few rules.
1. Your character must be well-rounded. No one is perfect and no one is an entire mess of flaws. Give your character a little bit of both.
2. While no one is expected to have PhD's in history, try to be accurate to the time period. No eighteen year old can be a General. Not every single female character is a feisty feminist ahead of her times.
3. Canon characters are allowed. However, we do encourage original characters. If it reaches a point where there are more canons than originals, a rule may be put in place restricting them.
