Name: Colonel-commandant Iorwerth “Martial Boy” "The Catamite" Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl Snowdon
Age: 39
Physical Appearance: Iorwerth has a strong and commanding presence. He has a promenant "Roman" nose, and auburn hair that he generally keeps tied back in a neat ponytail. He also has cold, emotionless, Grey eyes, that have been described as staring into hell itself. He stands at a commanding 6'1" tall, and has a lean build of a career soldier. His uniforms are always of the highest quality and kept immaculate... when they aren't drenched in blood that is.
Strengths: Iorwerth, is a Tactical and Strategic genius. He is also a master in several forms of bladed combat, but is only a passable marksman. He is charismatic and congenial, easily getting into the good books of most of the Upper Class.
Weaknesses: Iorwerth has nothing resembling a moral Compass, this was taught to him in part by Prince William, Duke of Cumberland, when he had served the man as his personal Batman during the Battle of Culloden, and had in fact happily shot a wounded soldier after an Officer Refused the order. He is also a Homosexual, with a weakness for beautiful boys, though he tries to keep this secret, his men and the peerage whispers it behind his back calling him “The Catamite”. He also very strictly adheres to the class system, treating all below him like they are little more than slaves.
Background: Born to the Lord and Lady Armstrong-Jones, Baron and Baroness Snowdon, in the 5th month and 234rd day of the year of our lord 1736. The eldest son of the Snowdon family is always assigned to serve the Royal family upon turn 6, generally as a Page of Honour to the King. The young Iorwerth was not a well behaved boy, and frequently got into fights and was rumoured to bugger the other Pages of Honour and as such was sent to serve as Batman to Prince William, Duke of Cumberland. He served the position with dignity and honour, as the future “Butcher of Cumberland” was similar in personality and behaviour to the young Snowdon. During his 9th year of his life, Prince Wiliam was dispatched to quell the Jacobite Rebellion with his faithful page by his side. The young 9 year old Iorwerth distinguished himself as a combatant the odd time that it came to it and earned the nickname “Martial Boy”. At the end of one of the final battles of the Rebellion, Prince William ordered that a Major under his command kill a wounded rebel soldier, when the officer refused, Iorwerth stabbed him through the heart with his saber, drew the dying Officer’s pistol and shot the wounded rebel. Spitting on the both he declared “This is what all rebels and insubordinates”, he then went on to suggest that death should be extended to all Jacobite Civilians, “to prevent any further rebellion”. Prince William heeded this advice and became known as “The Butcher of Cumberland” for his actions.
Over the next few years the relationship between Iorwerth and Prince William became more physical and they secretly became lovers. On his 16th birthday in the year 1752 he was granted a commission in The King's Own Regiment of Horse, as a Cornet, though he remained on detached duty to Prince William. In 1757 he is deployed along with Prince William and the Army of Observation in the Seven Year’s War. Despite all his efforts to convince William to listen to him, the Prince seemed intent on ruining his military career, and thus less than a year into the war, the Prince with Iorwerth at his side returns to Britain in disgrace. Refusing to retire with his lover, Iorwerth returns to The King's Own Regiment of Horse, and is deployed with a specialized unit of “Dragoons” in India. He distinguishes himself quickly and earns the unwavering loyalty of his troops, and despite his brutality he is promoted to the rank of Captain, and by the end of the war Colonel. He also earned several Knighthoods. He returns to Britain to take over his father’s estate in 1763, and goes into semi-retirement due to the lack of conflicts, till 1969 when a sickly Prince William summons him back to his side. For 6 months Iorwerth and William rekindle their relationship, until the Princes Death. Iorwerth serves in the Honour Guard at the Princes funeral, and the prince leaves all he can to his secret lover, which prompts the Promotion of Iorwerth from Baron to Earl Snowdon.
In the year 1766 Iorwerth’s Bloody Dragoons, are redeployed in India to fight in the First Anglo-Mysor war. Quickly due to a mix of previous experience and charisma Iorwerth takes the role of C-in-C of British Forces in India, and leads his forces to victory. His service here earned him a promotion to Colonel-Commandant (Brigadier General), and also served to wipe out the stigma of his previous service under the failed Prince William. He again returns to Britain and serves as a military advisor to the young King in place of Prince William. When war breaks out in 1775, he petitions the king and is granted permission to take his “Bloody Dragoons” to the colonies to help squash another rebellion. He is placed under the command of General-Lord Cornwallis, who doesn’t heed his advice or experience, and fails to take Charleston. In disgust Iorwerth redeploys himself under General-Viscount Howe for his taking of New York.
