Name: Katheryn Rose Hathaway
Age: 25
Patriot
Physical Appearance: Katheryn inherited her mother's blue eyes, and long curly blonde hair. She doesn't do a whole lot of smiling, most of the time she has her serious or concentrated face on. Those close to her see her smile a lot, so some might perceive her as unfeeling. She has a slim, and curved figure, and light toned skin. Over her collarbone, she has a scar from when she had a nasty fall from her horse when she was 12.
Strengths: can speak and read Latin and German, kind, loyal, committed
Weaknesses: opinionated, can sometimes speak out of turn, books, straight laced, gets mad when men underestimate her
Background: Katheryn's mother immigrated from Germany when she was 17 years old to begin a new life in Massachusetts. There, Maria Friedrich met Richard Hathaway and raised four children in Boston, Mass. Richard Hathaway fought in the French and Indian War as a Colonel, and fought bravely, but lost part of his hearing because of shell shock. He returned to his young family, and became governor. Because his family was already wealthy, and after becoming governor, Mr. Hathaway was able to provide well for his family and send his children to the finest schools.
Katheryn had an older brother named Jonas, he was the handsome charming one, and all the girls loved him. He is two years older than Katheryn, and they were very close growing up. She was like his little shadow up until she was fifteen, and then the boys started to take notice of her. After Katheryn was born, her brother Peter was born, and then her baby sister Anya. Growing up Katheryn was tutored by the finest teachers in mathematics, science, and history. Her father believed in a good education for all his children. Katheryn excelled in history, and with her mother's urgency she did well in young woman's etiquette.
The summer that Katheryn turned 23, she married a young man whom she had grown up with, and was happily married for a couple of months. She was ready to start a family, and live her happily ever after. Not even a year that they were married, her beloved husband was taken from her. He died suddenly from scarlet fever, and it devastated Katheryn. To this day, she still wears his wedding ring around her neck.
A month after the war broke out, Jonas joined the 2nd Massachusetts Calvary against their father's wishes. He wanted to fight for what he believed in, and wanted to make a difference. It tore their family apart, and Katheryn couldn't side with her father or Jonas, but she supported the cause that Jonas wanted to fight for. She kept in contact with Jonas through letters, and wished for the day when this war would be over and he'd be home. Jonas was killed on the battlefield at Chelsea Creek. Katheryn could not be consoled for weeks, and she shut herself off. She doesn't like to talk about it, and she still holds onto her past.
