Name: Francis Alveston
Age: 22
Physical Appearance: Francis stands at 5'11. He has brown hair and pale blue eyes. Many would consider him handsome if he could learn to go two minutes without talking about the causes and societies he supports. He stands up straight and smiles often and laughs even more. He is young and energetic and full of life.
Strengths: Francis is friendly. He is of the belief that everyone will like him so he has no hesitations in striking up conversations with strangers.
He is idealistic. He watched his mother and father doing everything they can to help those less fortunate. So he believes that the world can be made better by one's actions. And that it is not so hard to inspire others to do good when they see you doing it first.
He is generous. He cares little to nothing about money. He will gladly open his home to those who need a place to stay. He would feed the hungry his dinner without a single thought.
Weaknesses: Francis is self-righteous. He is a great moral being put upon this earth to lessen the plights of others ... at least that is how he views it.
He is meddlesome. He often places himself right in the middle of other people's businesses while trying to "help" them. He doesn't understand that some people don't want, don't need, or are simply too proud to accept help. He makes it his business to get involved.
He is naive. He doesn't really understand what the less fortunate are going through. Francis believes that with a few coins, he can actually improve their lives without realizing that the few coins would be spent in a day with nothing changed for the better. He sees the world with rose-colored glasses.
Background: The son of a lawyer, Francis was born in Camden, South Carolina. His family was not wealthy judged upon the standards set by the massive plantation owners, but there was no financial worry in his house growing up - they even owned a few dependable slaves.
The Alvestons were respectable and kept a decent sized home right in the heart of Camden. Francis' father was very well-respected. He was known as an honest and just man and most of those on the wrong side of the law, particularly the poor, sought his help as they knew that he would not turn them down. His mother was an accomplished woman who many said grew more beautiful with the passing years. She belonged to several societies aimed at helping the poor of Camden. Oftentimes Francis would help her deliver food to those less fortunate and even travel with her in the middle of the night to sit up with those who were ill.
He grew up an only child, his younger brothers and sisters having died in infancy. His parents doted on him. It was on Francis that they placed all of their hopes and dreams. They gave him the best education that they could afford. He was all set to become a lawyer like his father when he dropped out of school. He hated arguing. And there was a great deal too much paperwork and too much reading for him to find it enjoyable.
He left home when he was 22 to see the world and make his mark in it.
