rebekah. originally from georgia. 19. more than just a slave-girl.
Just because she's a slave, doesn't mean that her story is any less important. She was the child of slaves, two people who were matched together based on their looks and health. She lost her father to the trade and her mother by the attention of a overseer. Rebekah grew up to pull her own weight, but she couldn't fight her love of nature. She is whip-smart and intense in certain situations, and she has a gaze more fierce than a hawk's. I think she'd be great for any plot you have, so I'll leave this as open-ended as I can.

Immediately Francis already wants to help her, probably by giving her a few shillings and giving her the names of a few good friends of his who are active in the best abolitionist societies. Because that is what he does. He "helps" people and thinks he is saving the world in doing so.
He definitely would like to meet her though.

Well, you can't blame Rebekah for feeling only a little bit suspicious of his intentions. She'd definitely be wary around him, but once she realizes that his kindness is genuine, she would accept his money and the names of his friends.
I have a strong feeling that they would be needed.

I would like, at some point, for Aedan to question his beliefs on the institution of slavery. His family owns slaves, and he himself views the institution in a more positive light as his family treated slaves well. Who better than a slave herself to help him see differently?
