Bloodlines. For centuries, they ruled the world. To the eyes of a modern, democratic nation, the power of bloodlines may seem like a world of the past. But for the wolf shifters of the United States' great southwest, bloodlines are the difference between life and death.
Once upon a time only the great "pureblood" wolf shifters existed. Their powers were granted to them by ancient gods thousands upon thousands of years ago and these shifters have been passing the "shifter gene" down through generations ever since. Being born a shifter used to be the only way, but during a dark time in shifter history it was discovered that pureblood shifters could turn other humans into shifters by way of a blood sharing ritual. Unfortunately for the Purebloods playing God, the "mixedblood" shifters didn't exactly turn out as planned. They were different. They were dangerous. A war broke out between the races after an attempt to quietly exterminate the mixedbloods failed. The war raged on, and eventually the purebloods came out victorious.
Decades later, the war between the pureblood and mixedblood shifters was thought to be over. Mixedbloods were all but extinct...up until recently, that is. A new wave of mixedblood shifters have entered into the small town of Taos, New Mexico and unfortunately for mixedbloods they are anything but welcome. They have already been labeled as murderers and troublemakers. Some of the purebloods have vowed to help protect the mixedbloods while other have vowed to finish them off for good. Choose a side, and fight for you life. Bloodlines will be broken.
